I was changing out my o2 sensor and there are some ground wires under the backcover on my 2000 225 V-max. Check the grounds on the battery also.

I had an intermittent non-start on mine a couple years ago. On the starboard side of the motor, under the plastic cover is an electrical bus. One of the ground wires on the back of a stack was bent from the wire pushing on itself when tightened down. Long story short, it wasn't always in contact. Check each of those as there are a lot of wires there that one could be pinched or pushed in a bad direction.
Hope this helps.
