    yamaha problem

I HAVE A 2001 SKEETER WITH A 225 YAMAHA OX66. I HAD MY FULE PUMP MANAFOLDS REPLACED AT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR. BOAT WAS RUNNING FINE AFTER WORK WAS PREFORMED. MY BOAT WILL RUN AROUND 72 MPH GPS MOST DAYS AT ABOUT 5700 RPMS. THE OTHER DAY WHEN I WOULD TRY TO RUN FULL THROTTLE WHEN I WOULD HIT 5000 RPMS THE MOTOR WOULD DROP TO AROUND 4500 RPMS. I COULD GET OUT OF THE GAS A LITTLE AND EASE BACK IN TO THE GAS AND IT WOULD PICK BACK UP AND GO. AFTER DOING THIS A FEW TIMES I FINALLY WOULD REACH TOP END. MAY RUN A FEW MILES AND THEN START LOSING RPMS AGAIN TO AROUND 4500. MOTOR SOUNDS FINE TACK SEEMS TO WORK RIGHT. PLEASE HELP WITH INFO. I ALSO HAD THE PLUGS, FUEL FILTER AND PRIMER BULB REPLACED WHEN I HAD IT IN THE SHOP AT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR. THE ALSO CLEANED MY O2 CENSOR. THANKS

Just because they "cleaned" the o2 sensor doesn't mean it's working properly. I'd have that checked again.

I posted a similar problem with my 200 v-max today. We may have the same problem. Hopefully someone can help.

i would go back to the diaphrams on the fuel pumps or your top end fuel pump is possibly going out.

did you clean the sensor yourself? what did you clean it with? how hard was it to do?

I let mine soak in seafoam a while and brushed it with a old tooth brush. Make sure to clean the little "bar bell" thing (mine was stopped up w/carbon). It was a pretty simple job.

Our problem sounds very similar. I got mine fixed. Mine was one of two things. 02 sensor, or clogged fuel filter. It runs great now.
