Just a friendly word of advice for dog owners.

With hunting and trapping season coming up you may want to keep a close eye on your pets and make sure they stay in your yards. There's nothing that makes me sadder than seeing a post where someone lost they're dog when it it could of been avoided.

My buddy is a Big Time trapper and traps his 120 acres as well as many neighbors. Nothing sadder than coming up on a trap and finding a dead dog. Great Advice Man!!

My Springer is 18 months old and goes with us every where we go, always in the back seat with the windows partly down. This weekend he decided to jump out of the window while the car was moving 30 miles an hour into oncoming traffic. Our Springer was struck by a car running the same speed we were. To make a long story short we were very lucky, Dutch was very lucky. He did not have a scratch on him, but you could tell it really scared him. I see folks with trucks and their dog in the back and always thought it was cool. Now I think that is a good way to get your best friend killed. Dutch no longer has window privileges.

It can happen so quick, we just allow enough window to where ours can just stick they're nose out.I see they also make a safety harness that buckles into the seatbelt now too.

I also lock the power windows. Had a dog close the window on himself once.

Make sure to do your research and decide whether you feel the chip is worth the risk. I bought into it myself but will never have another chip put in any of my pets....the cancer risk isn't worth it to me.
