My '06 225hpdi bit the dust this morning..... I am not sure which cylinder # but it was the one on the top right facing from the prop... Pulled the plug and it was demolished and shavings are everywhere...? I can't win to save my soul![]()

hang in there man..,...good Yammie shop local there???
Great NEWS!!!!
First let me say thanks to Nick @ Anglers Choice! I called them and he told me I would be back up and running in no time! He was going to let me drop it off tommorow when they were closed. He even gave me his contact info so he would come and open it up so we could store it safely.
I did however call a shop 45minutes from me and they told me just same lead time. So I saved a 6hr drive. And they are Md's only Master Cert. Mech.
Also thanks to Russo Marine for the contact info with the local shop.
A bad day turned out to be a great day of reassuring customer service.![]()

hey ejp what is the name of the local mechanic and where are they located ? i have a yammie too and was looking for a local mechanic myself .
It is called Annapolis Boat Sales, but it is in Stevensville on Kent Island.
So I drop my truck off and I stop at the WaWa to get gas on the ride home... Pull away from pump and can barely steer... Freaking power steering in the truck went out. You'd think I had a boat from the 70's as well as my truck for as many problems as I have with both!![]()
Last time I needed work on my yamaha I took it to Quimby's Marine Sales in Easton, MD they are a 5 Star Yamaha certified shop. They were recommended to me and I don't have any complaints with their service work or their customer service, they treated me right.

Last time I was recommended a shop was Florida Marine and Boat Sales in Pasadena. It was on my '06 250hpdi and they took a month and a half to replace a vct tank and clean injectors. Was told by yamaha it should have been a week no later. Those folks will never see another one of my boats again. They gave me the classic line our boat buying folks need service too...... Except they barely sell any boats![]()
That's good to know about the place in Pasadena, I've driven by it a couple of times and thought about going in to check it out when I've seen the Yamaha sign, now I know not to bother.
All I can say is that I was satisfied with Quimby's service although it is a little farther from my house, I will go back. Only problem I had is that they wanted to put yamaha gear lube in my lower unit when they had it apart to change the water pump impeller, I had to convince them that they were going to use the Amsoil that I had provided and I wasn't going to take no for an answer since it is my motor.
