lower unit gear lube amount

going to order some gear lube and 2 stroke oil amsoil brand. ? whats the amount of gear lube used for a 250 yamaha? Want to make sure i order enough. Thanks.

38.9oz for a OX66 LU and 33.1oz on the HPDI LU

You need 2 bottles of gear lube.

what year? lower unit quantity is 35.5 US oz. for my 2006 HPDI 250

33.1 on my 225 HPDI, same lower unit. They sell 32 oz. bottles

I have a pump with a fitting that screwed into the fill hole when you removed the screw that I used to change the lower unit grease on a Mercury outboard. Getting ready to order some Amsoil synthetic grease and wondering if I can I use the same pump on an HPDI Yamaha? Is the thread size the same?

I also have the pump... I think I bought it at boat us or e&b marine... You will need the merc to yamaha adapter so the hose will thread in.

I got pump attachments from West Marine, I ended up buying another different pump for the amsoil bottles since they are different, amsoils sells them.

Purchased the oil from a dealer and the pump was attached to the Mercury Quiksilver oil container. Worked real nice on the lower unit of the Mercury but looks like I may need an adapter or just purchase a new pump from Asoil when I purchase the gear lube.

The only problem is the attachment that screws into the lower unit doesn't come with the Amsoil gear lube pump, so I ended up buying the piece that screws into the lower unit at West marine, I'm sure you can get at various places, but it wasn't the easiest piece for me to find.
