    Question on speedometer hook-up

Friend purchased a carolina skiff with a 70 hp two stroke yamaha, both 2006. Package came with a speedometer on the console that I noticed not working when I went out with him. I did not see a pick-up mounted on the transom when it was back on the boat. Would the pick-up be internal on the engine? I am not familiar with yamaha nor carolina skiffs. Also, his tach reads about 4500rpm at wot. Does anyone no the recommended wot range for the 70hp two stroke. Thanks for any information.

Re: Question on speedometer hook-up (201proride)

Not sure about the RPM but you can find it in the manual. look at the link pinned at the top of this forum for the manual.

Most Yammie speedo pick ups are a small pin hole in the front of the lower unit

Check for a pinched hose or a clogged pick up hole
