    Fogging an HPDI

Hey guys.....Im having conflicting opinions about fogging my 150 VMAX HPDI. First off....one dealer tells me to spray it into the intake manifold. Another dealer tells me to make a fuel and fogging concoction and put into my fuel/water seperator. I told him that I dont have one and the only fuel filter I have on my boat is the one on the engine in the clear cup. He basically tells me Im wrong and tells me that every boat made in the past ten years has a screw on Racor type filter. Please tell me he is wrong and I am right because I looked all over and cant find one. (2006 Ranger 178VS) Then I read that fogging an hpdi can mess up the injectors but the manual reccomends it. Im lost. Can somebody who uses a good dealer tell me the proper procedure or the one that works the easiest. Thanks

    Re: Fogging an HPDI (DSmith1178)

    DS,
I can not help on the fogging question, but there are some baots that do nto have the pre filter installed. Mine was one of them, in addition EJP's Blazer did nto come with a pre filter installed.

Some do, some do, some do not.....

IF your boat does not have a 10 micron Racor fuel filter I would add one. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. The HPDI does not like even a little trash or water in their system, and the gas you get now and days is full of both. The 10 micron filter is cheaper than the filters on the motor also.

I was planning on adding one, I just dont have any idea where to mount it. Doesent seem to be too much extra room.
