While idling for more than a minute the motor loads up with what appears to be excessive oil. When attempting to get on plane motor just bogs down and will not plane. Put motor in neutral and rev up and all you see is a gigantic cloud of smoke. After you clear its throat in neutral and then put back in to gear the motor runs flawlessly until you come back down and let it come to an idle for more than a minute. I have already taken it in to West Boats in Mesquite last week and Steve ground down the oil rod in order to take up slack per Yamahas service bulletin and also performed a detailed inspection of the engine including cleaning and checking the voltage output on the O2 sensor. He also said he increased the idle just a little. While in there Steve suggested I put Yamahas reccomended external water/fuel seperator which I allowed them do. After inspection Steve said the motor was in awesome shape. Steve and the folks at West marine were very friendly and seemed real knowledgeable but after spending close to $400.00 and having the same problem is kinda frustrating. By the way the motor slill has warranty remaining. I plan on taking the boat back to them on Thursday and let them try again. Any suggestions on what my problem might be would be greatley appreciated.
