    Normal RPM

I'm running a 2005 250 HPDI on my boat, and a lot of times in the summer I run on waters with a 45 mph speed limit. I'm currently running a 27 T1 and a 27 VMX. My boat performs very well with these props on big unlimited speed waters, but on the 45 mph lakes I reach the speed limit at about 3500 RPM. Would it be wise to run a 25 pitch on the smaller waters? I'm wondering if running at low rpm's for extended times will be hard on my engine?

Just open it up once in a while when no one is looking.

2 strokes "need" to rev now and then...

I often fish a small lake with a 25 MPH speed limit. As Mike said, once I get around the bend, I open it up for a few seconds. (Yea Ed, don't tell Peggy! )

Are you fishing Candlewood? I open her up once every time I go out just be careful from between to big weekends in summer. I rain fish mostly no police and radar does not work in rain . Your motor is fine at 3500 rpm just dont put around that will build up carbon.

I fish Candlewood a lot. I was there Saturday, fishing was awesome. I keep an eye for lake patrol, and open it up when I can. Most times, just run 45 at 3500. Will be on Champlain soon, so speed limit won't be a factor.

What Champion do you have and what color is it I will look for you? Mine is a 188 with 200 Vmax all white with navy and black pins on side. When candlewood is busy on weekends how do you run your boat to ride smooth ? I run mine at 3/4 trim is that right ? Iam still learing to drive big water I think Iam almost there. Rico

The lake is only 5400 acers they will follow your bubles and give you a warning what you dont want. Speeding tickets go on your drivers license here. Then we have insurance issues with our cars or trucks we own.

I ran a White 193 black arrow red pins. I now have a white Bass Cat Cougar with Yamaha 250, black arrow red pins. Both boats handle Candlewood very well when its rough.

It is sad we only get to fish our reservoirs from on shore. In new york we must have 12 reservoirs within hour drive that have huge large and smallies. We have to get a different john boat for each reservoir you want to fish and chain it to a tree and leave it there and row NO trolling motors and these waters could go as big as 15000 acers. Stay in alabama the northeast is tough but its home and most people love it here we do have very outstanding fishing smallmouth and largemouth. Candlewood is a trophy smallmouth lake weighs every year get better and better.
