Phase II kits on a Yamaha 250

I have almost ordered the mods from hydro tech twice. I have a tech/mechanic freind who is knowledgable and willing to bolt them on at no cost. I know the up side or whats possible how about some feed back on the negatives? Or any comments for that matter?

Can only commit on what I have heard!
Up side, Motor turns in to a screamer, you pass most of the boats that you could not pass before,
Down side, can not wipe that dumb looking smile off your face!
and more bugs in your teeth!!!!!!!!!

Hey Spider1 I needed that laugh. But on a more serious note is that phrase at the bottom of you message original or did you swipe it for your own because it is so...TRUE. I have been a reader on the BBC for some time now and have thought about putting that on a shirt. It would make a great front back print with YAMAHA in large letters under the back verbage.

Just got exactly what your talking about (powerhead dynoed 312hp). Great stuff. The only things that are a negative is:

    1. NO compromise on 89 octane minimum.

    2. You have to start fresh on set up (props and motorheight)
cause it's like a whole new animal.

Talk to Nathan, he will set you up and answer any questions. They do two hours breakin on the dyno so things are right from the start plus you know what HP your motor is putting out.You won't be disappointed. but you will get smile cramps.

I did the reeds, heads, tuner, mounts - went from turning 25 tempest+ @ 5800 to turning a 27 tempest+ @ 5800 in the heat of the summer and 5900 - 6000 in cooler temps. mine is 200 ox66 though but it sure made a believer of me.

    Old set up- 94 Stratos 201 pro,200 evinrude,25" renegade prop,8"hydro plate

    full load = 64-67 mph

New set up - same boat, plate....new Phase II motor w/big bore intake,1:75 LU
exhaust is not relieved, 6-7 hrs on motor
    w/28" TRO4 prop(too stout)

    3/4 load @ 5500 rpm = 76.4 gps 78 - 80 possible maybe.

Still working on set up, will probably drop to a 26 TXP 4, for
tournaments. Prop calculator says same speed @ 6000 rpms.
Nathan says I can turn it up to 6100-6300 (rev limiter is disconnected)
I don't think you will be disappointed one bit.

Thanks for the imput. Warranty is out and I'm not going to extend it. So...
Looks like Blazers marketing line is about to be tested... Prepare for Liftoff or
    something like that....
