Does this look normal? Do you see anything good here?

I had to go to the amber color to see out in the sun on my 998. These pics just don't look like Doug's. Or do they? Please give me your opinion BBC friends!

    Thanks!

    I'll need some help from the gurus (Doug, Bryan, Wayne, that's your cue) but my attempt;

Pic #1 - appears to vegetation (grass?) with a log or root ball in it. Just below the zoom window appears to be a small ball of bait fish with a larger fish looking over the menu.

Pic #2 - looks like part of a tree with the root ball, maybe a brush pile or rock pile to the right. In the water column there is a distinct school of fish just to the left of the tree. There seems to be interference in the water column; did you turn around and shoot these pics on second/third pass?

Pic #3 - Maybe grass growing on a shallow drop-off next to the bank?

Your Sensitivity is really hot looking for the structure with overpower sensitivity makes it easy to hide details.

    1) looks like a structure like foundation with rocks. It is the same as Image 2 and is there two of these in images 2?

Looks like some wave action is distorting the image.

    3) reminds me of a seawall with rocks in front of it but you have water over the top of it before it goes to the bank .

Thanks Doug. Sensitivity was set at 12. Any other settings you think I should try?

I'm not a fan of Amber colors they seem to be stronger and hide more details versus blue, brown and inverse.

I DID THE SAME as him with the amber pallet on the 998 . It just looks better in any kind of light whereas with my 1198 and 798 I like the blue better. Really wish HB would make all the units with that nice bright screen. It's a shame they don't.!!!

Yeah, on the new units purchased in the coming months. Doesn't help any of us that already have units.

. Agree with you. As nice as the the 898 and 998 are its just a shame that they lack in the screen quality. It's amazing that the issue wasn't addressed earlier because it would have been a dealbreaker for me if I had known enough about it when I bought the 998!!!

Hey Andrew - did you upgrade to a 998 - thought you had a 798 before. Was goign to add a 2nd unit this year but ended up with some major engine repair. I have to say I am still struggling to find a lot of structure in LKOZ with my 898. I cruise docks looking for brush underneath. Maybe I need to mess with my settings a bit more.

    Hey Leonard..

Yep, I upgraded this year. I still have the 798hd at the bow, but wanted the bigger screen at the consol. I'll be down this weekend thru next Tuesday.

Ive found some decent brush using the unit this year. I still resort to flippin docks to catch the most fish.

I probably won't be down for another week or so - we should try to get together for a little fall fishing. I can make the run to your cove in about 12 minutes on smooth water. Spotted your house when we were down for the 4th.

BTW Andrew - have you found any good locations or patterns down by you. I've worn out all the areas from the 50 to the 56.

    Leonard...

I would like to fish with you in the fall. I'm glad you found my place. I have found some early morning paterns on buzzbaits along sea walls, but that's about it. I flipped over 50 docks this weekend, and nothing!

Today I woke up at 6 to fish, and my motor was acting up. I didn't end up fishing any of the day. Really upset about it. I dropped it off at a Merc dealer down there to have it looked at. My motor only has 50 hours on it, and I've never had any issues. I hope to know something in the next couple days.

I'm thinking a concrete porch with a tree top and a school of fish. Nice image BTW.
