Help with a Model number??

I picked up a service manual for my 92 Johnson 200 Limited Edition with a model number VJ200SLEID. Well I looked through the service manual to what models it covers and the only one I can find that is close is J200STLEN. I also checked the BRP's parts website and I still can't find my model number??? Why isn't it listed in the manual or BRP's parts website?? What does the "V" stand for? Also what number can I use that will be the same as my engine??

Joe,

Your model number indicates the engine is a 1991, not a 1992.
If I remember correctly, the V indicates a boat-builder engine - in other words, they made a specific run of engines for one boat company.

The S/M specific to your engine is no longer available from BRP. Try http://www.kencook.com/evinrudejohnsonmanuals/ if you want the specific (correct) manual. What you have probably covers most everything, except minor changes which may have occured from one year to the next.

Thanks! I did not know it was a 1991. Makes me think the boat was an early 92 model then. The only boats I've ever seen these on were Rangers so maybe that's what they were for?? Not sure but thanks for the great info!!

I know a guy with the LE on a Stratos, so it wouldn't be a brand specific motor ,course his #'s could be different, Those were some pretty good engines!!

So far so good...Ole girl runs like a top. Sucks the gas and oil like a champ!!! I was really turned off by OMC products before this engine...I was once on the Dark side but I felt the force and now I'm where I belong!!! I'm a ford guy so the blue fits me well!!
