    fish finding ?

So when you idle over a point or down a rock wall trying to decide whether to stop or not, what is enough fish worth stopping for? does anyone have any pics of what they look for? other than the obvious huge school of fish on si. im mainly lookin for 2d. thanks

Your not always looking for the fish. Your looking for the structure that fish relate to. If you sit on top of a brush pile your not always going to see the fish thats buried in it, until you send down a jigging spoon or drop shot to coax them into eating and even then you may not see them especially if your in the thickest part of the structure.

ive fished a lot of good looking offshore places like creek channels and such without a lot of reward. would i be better off not stopping til i find some brush or something on the channels or points? so if you idle a point and find no brush or irregularities do you just move on?

A lot goes into finding fish weather it be offshore or not. It doesn't always have to be wood either. It could be pea gravel, chunk rock, boulders, muscles, grass mixed in etc etc.. Also casting angles make a huge difference. Thats a huge plus with the casting rings on your unit. It all boils down to is their food for them to eat in those area's. If im not seeing any life in a area I typically don't stay long.

i wanna see the fish, nice thick arches! i trust my electronics and if i don't see fish then i move. now the amount is relative to the area and time of year. really i am looking more for size than amount since most times a half dozen bigguns are better than a bunch of little ones.

bait is good to see but sometimes you can have to much bait in an area too.

    Doug,
Doesn't motor noise and vibration scatter those schools when you go "over" them? Especially at 9ft.?

They can but these were actually in an area travelled often by boats and don't think it effected the fish. Just had to watch out for the boats so they don't run over you when catching them .
