Motor Cowl decals

I read somewhere that Evinrude will give you new decals if you call them. Any truth to this or was I just dreaming?

They're $90 dollars or so per side in the parts catalog. I'd be supprised if they gave them away.

Is there any way to get decals for the older motors? My '89 XP 150 has a few rock chips on top of the cowling (previous owner didn't use a cover). I'd like to repaint the cowling, but I'll just touch it up if I can't get the decals.

I've found a place that will powder-coat the cowling, covers and lower unit components for me for <$200. They even guarantee an exact color match.

Bomb does not offer decals that old.......Sorry.

You might check with Crazy Elvis here on the boards and see if he can copy the decals.
