After about 3 months of hard starting once the motor warmed up and a few parts replaced I finally figured it out. The problem was the enrichener solenoid valve. It was leaking fuel. This was the third trip out and it started with a bump of the key all day long all three trips. I only pumped the primer once in the morning.
Befor replacing the enrichener valve I did rebuild the fuel pump and replaced all of the hose clamps on the fuel lines. Pulled the fuel pickup tube, it looked fine. Changed the fuel line and primer bulb. Replaced the check valve at the TEE where the oil goes into the fuel line and none of this helped the hard starting but I'm glad I did all of it.
