    No charge?

I have a 2000 Mercury 150 EFI that the charging system does not seem to be charging. It shows a little over 11 volts and may go up very little when running. I used a cheap volt meter on the post at the starter and it did go up very little tho on the meter when running. It seems someone has changed one of the regulators it has one # 854515-1 1759 and the other one is 893640-002 2498. The motor starts good and runs good has good compression. Question is what should I check first.
Oh and all the connections seem good and nothing burnt.

    Re: No charge? (KySprint)

I'd recommend that you test/inspect the STATOR per the instructions in the OEM Service Manual.

You should primarily focus on testing the YELLOW wire pairs (resistance, and voltage outputs from these wires).

If these tests fall within specified parameters, replace BOTH voltage regulators (use only the correct OEM Mercury components).

Also: Check your battery (Load Test) to confirm it meets the appropriate ratings.

Ensure battery connections are CLEAN, ENGINE CABLE INSTALLED FIRST, remaining lugs Largest to Smallest. Finish off the connection with a Stainless LOCKNUT (do NOT use wing-nuts).

Sherm @ Sherm's Marine (or I) would be more than happy to assist you with a set of replacement regulators, if needed.

Email or Phone are the BEST means of contacting the Parts Department(s).
