If kill switch has been checked the next thing i would do is unplug the rev limiter that is mounted on the electrical panel on the stb side of the engine. ( has the black with yellow stripe coming from it that can be unplugged). Good luck
IF ITS BLACK ITS ON THE BACK!!!![]()
+1....
Also, verify that you do, or DO NOT have spark on all plug wires.
If NO spark is present.... isolate rev limiter as above mentioned, and see if spark returns (don't forget to reconnect the rev limiter).
Other possible causes include:
-Shorted kill circuit in harness, ignition switch, or lanyard switch
-Failed CDM (#1 would be most likely)
-Faulty GROUND for CDM's, or to the electrical plate
-Failed Stator
-Failed Voltage Regulator (unplug- if spark returns, it's the culprit)

Please read this VERY carefully.
1) Unplug #2 CDM (coil) harness plug. Recheck for spark on 1-3. If spark returns, REPLACE #2 CDM. If not, proceed to: 2).
2) Reconnect #2 CDM. Unplug #3 CDM. Recheck for spark on 1-2. If spark returns, REPLACE #3 CDM. If not, proceed to: 3).
3) Reconnect #3 CDM. Remove #2 CDM completely, and plug it into the connector for #1 CDM. Recheck for spark on 1-3. If Spark Returns, replace the Original #1 CDM (the one you disconnected). If not, proceed to: 4).
4) Disconnect wiring harness plug for ignition switch harness (cannon plug) connector. Jumper the starter solenoid while checking for spark (all CDM's must be connected). If spark returns- the problem is in the keyswitch, killswitch, or keyswitch wiring harness. If not, proceed to: 5).
5) Reconnect all plug harness connectors. DISCONNECT VOLTAGE REGULATOR. Recheck for spark. If spark returns- REPLACE voltage regulator.
If you're unable to determine the problem with the above steps, I'd strongly suggest enlisting the hands-on expertise of a Certified or Master Technician.![]()

Probably a good idea.... might be a good idea to have them start by checking the Stator Output.![]()

This would be up to Sherm. Normally, we don't delete posts, as they may be useful to someone else searching for a solution to a similar problem in the future.
Could you possibly update on what the cause was determined to be?
