    200 Opti Service

    It's time to get it ready to go for the spring and I need to do the following: Change the impeller, prop seal, fuel filter, l/u oil. The local shop with certified mercury mechanics wants $150-200 to do the above. I know I can change the l/u oil and fuel filter but how hard is it to change the impeller and fuel filter on the motor. Would it be worth it to do it myself or have the pro's do it.

    That isn't a bad price for that service at all. Just my 2cents.

    If by prop seal you mean the seal at the prop shaft, that's not an annual service item, and it takes enough labor time that I'd be surprised if they could do it for that price along with th eother stuff.

    Other than that, seems a reasonable price for the work.

    I'd be curious to know what's being done with the "prop seal" also.

    You'd be very hard pressed to beat that price.... it's a BARGAIN.
