    maybe jumping the gun

is there any good reliable mechanics in wisconsin just incase this does not fix it im just about to spend 600 dollars on getting my injectors cleaned on my 99 225 opti because it quits at idle and dosnt restart unless i press the hotfoot down a little and gradually let up on it as i turn the key!!! the mechanic says according to mercury they are dirty only way it would not quit is if he unplugged the thermostat sensors i ran strait quick clean threw the filter 3 times still no change i just want to no if there is a mercury mechanic that dosnt guess and actually noes wtf is wrong (it sounds like this) (it might be that) it sounds like most mechanics just guess and make the customer pay for parts that does need replacing im not saying the injectors are not dirty it may be but if that does not fix it im out 600 bucks then it will be more guess work and more money why do they even go to school if there gona charge the customer for process of elimination and parts i want a mechanic in wisconsin that can fix something right the first time and does not charge for misdiagnosis and replacement parts when the originals were fine. i also heard it might be a tracker valve to ??? if this does not work its gona burn.lol

    Larry:

    Try the dealer locator:

    http://www.mercurymarine.com/find-a-dealer/

Under "Service"- try selecting "Outboard Premier". This should return a list of dealers that have highly-qualified technicians in your area (you can even specify the number of mile radius search, up to 100 miles).

You've obviously had some bad experiences in the past, which is sad. However... I can tell you from experience that if your injectors, direct injectors, and rails haven't been cleaned and flow tested in the last 3-4 years, THEY ARE DIRTY.
