I might have broke my lower motor runs but will not engage the prop when
You put it in forward Was running at about 4800rpm and it fell like something
Gave and just quit....motor didn't just the prop. Motor runs just no spinning of the prop
So how can I tell without taking the lower off. I will be shopping for a lower unit
A good starting point would be to sample the gear lube... look for water, metallic particles, or metallic "sheen" in the lube.

Thanks Don.....and yes on the gear lube... look for water, metallic particles, or metallic "sheen" in the lube....didnt look like water but on the particles and metallic chips I have them coming out after I got the boat out of the water....Having my mech....coming by the house just to comfirm it......So what can u do for a other LU? 2003 Mercury 200HP on a Triton TR19 thinking it's a 20" and 1.87 gear but don't know.....would you know?
