Mec optimax oil question ?
I run a 99 Opti, and for the longest time I used premium plus. but switched to Opti oil, But I added the one to the other. I looked at the oil today and it looks very dark. Is this normal, not sure if I should take it out and put new stuff in , but its very expensive ! is there a way to check the oil ? I put some in a jar and I'm going to take to the mechanic tomorrow. thanks
Can you post a picture of the oil in the jar? Opti oil is a fairly dark color (brownish bronze).

Mercury/Quicksilver PREMIUM PLUS -and- Optimax/DFI oils are different colors. When mixed, they will be a rather strange/dark/dirty looking color.
The two oils mentioned above are 100% totally compatible with each other, and can be intermixed with NO DIFFICULTIES.

I had the same thing when I switched. After burning thru a few gallons it looks normal.
