    Motor turns over but won’t start

    Hi . My 2003 Mercury 125 2 stroke . I saw that my volt meter wasn’t charging . So i ran down the lake and it never got up to 12 volts so when i got home I popped the hood and found too yellow wires that were melted together and 3 or 4 connectors ends with clear insulators had turned black burnt . These all went to the Rectifier so I ordered a new one . Mounted new one tried to start it up and it would only crank so I looked and found at the battery I had a blown 30 AMP fuse replaced and tried again same thing . Can you get the too yellow wires backwards ? Thank for any help .

    Most liky you will need to replace the stator as well;
    A bad battery, undercharged one or the wrong one will cause this, Standard lead acid only
    Thank You Leon Pugh
