Hypothetical scenario Don,
2001 300x OEM set idle is quite high as you know (per manual), I therefore shift gears with the motor off to help save the L/Unit, but that's not always a great plan either when allot of shifting is needed for what ever reason.

….the shift switch were wired to another switch at the dash and when loading , unloading or needing to move around in a tight space that requires several gear shifts one would turn on the switch to kill a few cylinders possibly helping the ability to make those shifts without imposing the harsh high RPM gear changes upon the L/Unit…………would there be any negative effects of a set up like this.......…..Just a thought…….
