Folks, We are looking for an 8 mm barrel nut in either stainless or bronze. We have tried all over and can't quite come up with this. We don't want to make one special as a custom part and we assume one is out there, we just don't know where.

Try Brafasco up here in ontario...as we are metric they should have em.

Something like this may work. The barrel itself is not threaded but comes with a special nut with radius on it that matches the barrel. Just an idea.

Is the 8mm the O.D. or the thread? If it's the thread you need an amplifying thread pitch i.e. 8x1.0 or 8x1.25. Aircooled V W carburetors had a mild steel 8mm o.d. throttle cable clamp which employed a grub screw.
A buddy of mine shop could make one for you.

Maybe check with Ikea? They use a lot of those type of parts in their furniture.
