    Neutral Switch problem.... i hope

The last couple of weeks my 2007 optis have been driving me bonkers with a miss fire on the SB engine, its been getting worse, changed plugs, swapped all ignition units, swapped all injectors, swapped wiring looms, thought it was fixed but not, had the dealer out to do fuel, air and diagnostic but nothing came up on the static test, just though that didn’t do a print out, i forgot to ask and they never offered, today i noticed that on the smartcraft display where it shows neutral and then that a gear is selected that it was flashing intermittently between the two and correlated with the misfire, where does that information come from, is it the switch in the control box or somewhere on the engine, i see a sensor down near the throttle control and gear selectors, i think the misfire is possible the guardian coming on as today i got a fault listed at last which said "Fault 210 Neutral over speed"

Also Don, I need to order some parts, nothing to big, Zincs, seals, and a few bits and pieces, neutral switchs also do you ship fedex or dhl, or I can use amerijet in florida if that works. I need to send you a list of bits what the best email address to use. not sure if I can send PM's in this forum.
    thanks
    Howard

Shift position switch is located on the shift slide, Port-side of the engine. More than likely, yours is intermittently reporting a "Neutral" position, while you're really in gear (resulting in a Neutral Overspeed Fault, and subsequent Engine Guardian and RPM limit).

I'd replace the shift position switch.

Regarding Parts.... we ship only to US addresses. See the following post for contact/ordering information:

I disconnected the switch and although it shows in gear all the time the misfire has stopped, will add a couple of these to my order,

I was just looking on your parts list and one part i need is rectangular rubber from the rear cowling latch, it fits on the inside of the cowl and dropped off when we were taking the cover off, it says not available, ?? it that right

An alternative for the rectangular piece (from later design latch) is still available. It can be utilized in your application.

You have an IM, also... if you have further ordering questions, please contact the Parts Department directly:
