    This should work ????

    Don,
Do you see any reason that this will not work on my 300x with an Opti VST ? It's a winter project when I pull the injectors to send into you for clean & flow. My idea is to place a BOSCH high pressure EFI pump on a custom bracket similar to where the low pressure pump mounts on an Opti set up and plumb it up accordingly. The current VST will have the OEM pump removed and all ports plugged in the top cap as marked that were exposed to fuel. I'd like to do this in lieu of running a return line back to the tank. Your opinion & comments are greatly appreciated.
    Thx,

    Gary

    Gary:

I see no reason that you can't do this. It would also allow you to still retain the "benefits" of a VST.

Personally, I'd look very carefully at the passage area between the back and forward chambers of the VST, and see if it could be opened a bit larger (use your best judgement here- it is, after all, R&D work).

Reason: moving the high-pressure pump AWAY from the supply passage could result in inadequate supply to meet the demands of the pump.

    Don,
That's why you are the man..........Great suggestion on opening up the pump chamber a bit, it'll sure increase the size of the float bowl by about 30-40% more. I'll set the bottom casting up on an angle and mill a vertical 3/8"" wide slot in the middle of the seperating wall between the pump cavity and main float bowl chamber stopping just short of the casting top by about 1/2".

    Thanks for catching that Don............
