plugging top holes
I have a 225efi OT444313 it's a 3.0 with the 4holes on the cone, I seen where a few people been plugging the top 3 or 4 hole on both size of the lower unit.. Does this helps out alot or what? I'm running my with prop shaft even with bottom of pad with 20psi.. If I plugged them can I go up more?? What's the ups an downs to plugging the holes ?? Also what size screws fits it.Thanks

I think that is for guys like me with out the four nose cone intakes. But I really don't know if it would hurt or help your application. One of the experts will be along to tell you more. . I wish i had the nose cone water intakes i would raise my motor up more.

It is for the units with the four nosecone water inlets. If I remember right, Don said that these lower units were designed for several different types of hull applications, that's why there's so many on the sides. Contact Don and he can tell you how many to plug on the sides, probably top 3 or 4 on each side. He also has them in stock.
