    Fury Props

I have a 200 HP Mercury Pro XS. Right now I am running a 26 Tempest. I would like to try a 26 Fury. My question is will I gain or lose any RPM's because the Fury prop is a little smaller diameter than my Tempest.

Most likely lose rpm and gain speed, as it is also a stiffer prop

I believe a 25 Fury would give you about the same RPM's as a 26 Tempest. My 24 Fury turns the same as my 25 Tempest Plus. I like the Fury alot better.

Besides keeping around the same RPM's, how is the performance from the 25 Tempest to the Fury of the lower pitch. Hole shot is probably better, but do you still go as fast top speed, less, or more?

I guess what I am asking is do I stay the same with pitch on the Fury, or drop down a pitch? (go 26P Tempest to 25 Fury)

More than likely, you'll want the 25P Fury. It's VERY close in "theoretical" pitch to the 26P Tempest.

Keep in mind, the Fury will likely run "slightly deeper" than the Tempest, but you should see an increase in holeshot, mid-range response, and in most cases, a SLIGHT increase in top end (.5-1.5 MPH average).

What exactly do you mean by running deeper? Once I bought the Fury should I lower the motor on the jack plate down a .5" to make up the difference in the two different prop diameters?

You can try it at your current height.... but will likely find that lowering the engine slightly will result in better performance.
