I wish Mercury would make a 300 pro xs so you could get 5 years warranty. People would buy more 300's if you could get the warranty. Problem is you throw a 300 on now and in 2 years your out of warranty and you just lost a bunch of resale value on your boat. I see boats with 300 xs and 250 xs sit on the internet forever because no one wants to buy them.
And of course this is just my opinion and I dont need to go 90mph but I like the 22' boats with a 300.
I think people don't buy 300s because 250 is max hp in a lot of circuits

Actually, Mercury HAS offered a 300 with 5 years coverage (although the 5 and Drive program ENDS May 31, 2011).
Verado Pro-300 qualified for this program.
As for a 300 ProXS, that's not something currently available, and although I wouldn't say "never"- I don't expect to see it happen, due to the fact that it's a STRICTLY racing division engine, with far too many trim/midsection/gearcase choices for a "production" engine.
But, you never know.... I always try to keep an eye on the Miami Boat Show each year, as that's where new products are traditionally "unveiled"....
