Got a small problem...

This seems to be the scenario the last few time out...

It idles fine, put it in gear and it dies immediately. Start it back up and again idles fine, put it in gear if it doesn't dies, once you touch the hotfoot to give it gas it'll die. Start it back up idles fine, shift it into gear and it will "surge or cycle" give it more gas and it will finally settle out and then you can idle out of the no wake zone.

Only does it in forward, never had it die while backing off the trailer. Does it all day long. It's under warranty, just waiting to hear for the mechanic, ca't go fishing so I figured and ask for opinions here... Any thoughts?... Dan

Many possibilities.... "Hands-on" diagnosis will definitely be best.

Since it does it ONLY in forward (and does NOT do this in REVERSE), I'd be looking at the shift position switch (and the slide that operates it) for potential problems. Monitoring the shift position switch while shifting to FORWARD, and while accelerating slightly in forward, would certainly help to determine if the problem is in this area.

Might also want to monitor TPS voltage at the same time.....

Both of these items could be monitored, and/or recorded on the Computer Diagnostic System. Recordings can be played back "over and over" to monitor, "frame by frame" engine data items (greatly enhancing the odds of catching a pesky, intermittent problem).
