The guys on the La boards were wondering if this is a joke or not. So we'll ask the experts.

Re: Is this for real?????? (Cooney)

This has been asked before and it was determined that it would not benefit an optimax as they are very close on fuel metering already...

Waste of money. All it does is alter the resistance of the IAT (Intake Air Temp Sensor), essentially "lying" to the PCM (causing it to think the air is cooler than actual atmospheric conditions).

Result: PCM dumps more fuel. On your Opti- dumping more fuel does essentially just three things:

    1. Increase carbon buildup
    2. Foul Spark Plugs
    3. Burn MORE fuel.

I can also tell you from testing- dumping additional fuel has essentially ZERO effect in actual horsepower output, top-end, or overall performance.

What if you sprayed nitrous on the IAT sensor on the way into the motor
