Missouri fishing help for travelling bassers?

My OFB has signed up to buy a new boat, and is driving from here to TN to pick it up. It looks like I'm going along to be co-driver and "boat bitch". The plan is to fish Dale Hollow for two days and we plan to fish one other "bucket list" (i.e., famous) lake on the way home, which will be northward through KY and then across Indiana and Missouri on I-70 to Denver and on NW to the Seattle area.

We normally fish pretty clear water, using finesse techniques and light line. The electronics on the new boat will be new to us, and we'll be fumbling with it a lot. We will not be coming back to TN, KY or MO anytime in this lifetime, so you won't see us at any tournament you'll be fishing. We don't want to go someplace where lower units are at hazard, because we won't have time to poke along, and we would prefer SM and Spots a bit more than LM.

We're thinking about a break from the driving and going someplace in MO (not too far off of I-70) for a day. Any advise on where to go, where to launch, where to fish, and what to throw would be much appreciated. You can post here or email me direct <sbasser at yahoo dot com> if you'd like to keep it hush-hush. TIA from two geezers!

Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.

I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.

That might be a better option for you guys. There really aren't any larger lakes close to I-70 in MO.

LOZ would be my choice. Lower lake is pretty clear and has some spotted bass. Turn south on Hwy 54 at Kingdom City, Missouri and it's about 55 miles from I-70.
