My wife and I are still at our cabin, enjoying east TN and the Smokies. Yesterday we hiked to Rainbow Falls, 2.6 miles one way of rock and tree roots. Took a little while, however the hike was worth every step.![]()

Seen this lil' guy by itself, it passed within 10' of me... glanced up a couple of times and kept walking. Later, I ran into a Ranger. I mentioned what I saw..."one cub, looked healthy, however real small like this years born". Ranger said "they were aware and they have been watching it". "Seems to be putting on weight and they believe it will survive". Ranger stated "the sow abandoned it this year....the sow has the other twin with it". Mother nature does some strange things in the wild. I love this place.
