    250 Pro XS heaqd issue

Hi, I am posting this for a friend who has a 250 Pro XS and recently (as he was preparing for winter storage) noticed a small bit of water coming out of the left bank head (through what looks like a minute crack in the outer shell of the head). It is where he believes # 5 cyl is but a plug check shows everything as nornal AND the motor was working fine last time out. By the way, all plugs look the same.
Question,: Has there been any issues with water jackets cracking on the heads of the 250 Pro XS?? Personally I have noot seen a problem of this nature mentioned anywhere but maybe someone else has.
He is of the mind to just replace the head. Is this what would be recommended?
Might the head be repairable if it is just a water jacket crack? Sorry, I don't have any pics.
    Thanks,
    STG

Yes, with cracked heads and block.
If it is still under warranty, tell him to take it in for inspection.

    Engine serial number?

If the engine is under warranty, this would almost certainly be covered.

If not under warranty, options include:

    -Head replacement
-Remove, weld, and reinstall cylinder head.

Port side cylinder head is part# 841020A08

Comes with new seals, and a full set of "torque-and-turn" head bolts.

BTW.... this is a Mercury Racing 250XS (and not a ProXS).

    You've got an IM.
