    Had a great weekend!

Well, not so much on the fishing side, got wore out at Greers but found some great deals at Gander. They are basically selling all their Strike King cranks for a $1.99. Rapala DTs for 3.99 and a lot of other stuff on sale. I have picked up over $150 worth of tackle for $57. Not to mention finally found a left hand retrieve Revo at a pawn shop for $45. First baitcast I have owned and I love it! So, it was definitely a great weekend!

Nope...got blanked. Fished by myself. Fish were stacked in the creeks, but had a case of the lockjaw. Went out to main lake to find em' and just could not find the fish. I threw everything at them. They were stacked up where water was flowing in from tributaries and especially runoff, but just could not tempt one to bite. Still had a blast though and got to see a few nice ones weighed in.

I seen on Jackson Co's website it only took 11 and change to win. Sounded like only a handful of limits were caught.

I wasn't the only boat that got blanked, I believe 7 boats didn't weigh anything and there was only 1 limit caught. I think had the creeks not been so muddy it would have been a heck of a day. Especially as the day got warmer.

Its tough when the creeks and rivers get muddied up like that this time of year.

Maybe it was 2 limits, had a few weigh in 4, and a lot weigh in only one and several of those they measured to make sure. It was a tough day for sure.

Cold and muddy water in a clear lake is a recipe for disaster in my opinion...

I think a lot of it on my part is just my experience level, or should I say inexperience. But judging from the amount that won it, it was a tough day for most everyone.

Yep, you need to catch an area right as it starts to muddy up and follow the mud line, or after its had a few days to start clearing from the back of the creek.

Bad thing was the whole creek was muddy! Hill Creek, Middle Fork (these were the two creeks I fished). Wish I had another chance at it...would like to at least catch a keeper or two.

Re: Had a great weekend! (RazorBassin)

I think I would start out on main lake points and work back to where it started getting muddier (which wasn't far back in the creeks at all) or I may would have made the run to Cherokee or even down to Peter Creek. I'm more familiar with that area.
