New proxs cutting out and shaking

Brand new (2011) 175 proxs.Went to leave a spot, got up on plane motor started to shake and bog down,let off the throttle it died when I stopped.cussed for awhile, fished for about 15 min. Pumped the ball and it started, ran around and fished 20+ spots(5 or 6 hrs).Ran fine until the end of the day it did it again but it didnt die, I just drove thru the bogging(I didnt give it more throttle,but I didnt let off of it much either) Fished a couple more spots with no issues.I know nothing about these new Mercs.Could this be a fuel issue or a compressor issue I've been hearing about ?Any ideas what this could be.Taking it to the mech but thought I would ask here too. I also have a buddy with a new 250proxs who said this has happened to him a couple of times.He didn't seem too concerned about it and hasn't taken it to the shop.

I had the same issue with my brand new 300XS and when I took the cowl off I found that one of the plug wires was not pushed on all the way.

This could also be a fuel supply problem.

Causes can include any of (or combination of) the following:

-Pickup Tube or Anti-siphon Valve in fuel tank
-Actual fuel level low
-Fuel Tank Vent Restricted
-Fuel lines/bulb (see: http://www.bbcboards.net/zerot...first)
-Pulse Fuel Pump Diaphrams
-Restricted Fuel Filter
-Debris in VST

One other thing to note: It's a GOOD IDEA to get in the practice of PUMPING YOUR PRIMER BULB FIRM BEFORE EVERY ENGINE START. Today's fuels boil/evaporate at extremely low temperatures in the fuel line.... leaving you with nothing but vapors (which the fuel pumps cannot process). Simply pumping the primer bulb firm often resolves this concern.

Thanks guys, will check plugs taking it to mech also. I will post if something is found.
