    Seamonsters

They are living in Lake Maumelle.

Friday night I got to go out there for a few hours. I was catching a few on a shakey head, then a little after midnight I made a move to a spot that had produced a few fish in the past. First cast felt a thump so I reeled down and set the hook into what I thought was a stump.

Well then I felt a little head shake, and I though this dabm littl fish has me wrapped up. NOPE I was wrong. Seems that this fish was not a fish at all but Nessie has packed up and moved to central Arkansas, and at this moment she decided that the sceenery was a little better down by the dam.

Well I am standing there wondereing what do I do next with the drag screaming and running out of line in a hurry. Then the hook just pulled out. So I do not know what it was, but my line was not slimed up like a Kitty cat would do, and whatever it was took over 3/4 of a spool of 12lb flouro in less than a minute.

So if you are out there and find a monster with a sore lip tell her I said HI.

At Dardanelle, when sight fishing. 2lbers in the water turn into 3lbers when out of the water. 3's into 4's. Etc.

At Bull Shoals, a 3lb smallie looks like a 6lber when in the water.
I hooked a Drum also. Looked down and saw the flash about 15ft deep. Thought it was a HUGE Smallie.
    5lb drum....ho.....hum.

Very possible I like the idea that it was Nessie better though.
I have only hooked one thing that pulled drag like before, and then it was a beaver that I snagged by accident.

I hooked something at Table Rock. Fight lasted about 20 seconds. I felt the hit. Set the hook.
I never turned the fish, never felt a head shake. Just hung on for 20 seconds.
My line came back frayed and mangled.
I figured it was a big walleye, but, I have sent that section of line to a lab so it could be tested for Dinosour DNA.
