Water pressure guage hose?

Don, Now that we have our setup working good and finally getting some time to play and get some seat time, I figured I better get the water pressure guage working. I traced the hose back and found that it had been pinched in between the cowling somehow It had been like for a while and I just never noticed it. The hose is crimped now. My question is would it be ok to cut out the bad section of hose and put a barbed fitting in or do I need to replace the entire hose?

BTW... this is on a 2000 225 promax serial # OT069196 if that makes any difference.

It would certainly be acceptable to remove the damaged area, and splice in replacement hose with a barbed fitting.

At the worst, you'd end up replacing the hose later (and you'd only be out the barb or barbs that you used). Doubtful that you'd need to do that, however.

Thanks Don. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't restrict water psi and give me a faulty reading.
