    Brodie Bend

Has anybody fished Brodie Bend much? If so, how recently? I was down by there the other day and it looked decent. A change of scenery if nothing else.
Everyone I've talked to said they did pretty good there years ago, but I haven't found anyone who has fished it in recent years.

    Re: Brodie Bend (rowdyrabbit)

I worked it over pretty well three weeks ago. (or I thought I did).
Caught a bunch of short fish.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

Three weeks ago I felt like a pro there - caught fish all morning - best 5 would have been close to 20 lbs. Had one break off 14lb. line without slowing down. Buddy and I didn't want to leave that day. Last weekend - caught probably 10 fish with only two keepers. It has a ton of 14 3/4" fish - but there are also monsters.

Brodie has a lot of cover and ways to fish it. You can have a blast hitting docks by the old channel and laydowns. There are a lot of pads - but fish them fast till you find the fish - most will have nothing underneath. Like a lot of places - on any day two different boats can hit brodie - one hero, the other zero. You just have to work quick to find a working pattern and stay with it.

Thanks for the information. Where did you put in to fish it? Can you still put in directly into Brodie, at the ramp by the liquor store?

I really don't think there's an operational ramp at Brodie anymore. I come thru Redfield and put in at Tar Camp Park and cross the river into Brodie. Before you cross over, if there's any current - you need to crankbait the rip-rap at the mouth of tar camp creek. Good Luck!

    Thanks for the tips.
It would be closer for me to put in at Scott and motor down prolly. I'm just not a big fan of that ramp. There is a ramp in Brodie, but I have never looked at it close enough to see what kind of shape it's in. May be private now for all I know. I know guys that used to use it years ago, but everything may have changed since then.

Scratch that. I forgot how far it is from Scott. I was putting it closer to Wrightsville in my mind for some reason.
