    Rain suit

So I played hookey yesterday and dammint I found out that my rain suit is no longer water proof... Actually it is not even water resisant any more. More like putting on a sieve.

What do you guys have and how long has it lasted?

Mine was a Frogg Toggs that lasted about 6 years before it bit the dust.

    Re: Rain suit (turkdaddy)

I have a Gortex BPS HPR bibs and jacket. Keeps me dry and they are uninsulated so I don't burn up during the summer time. Also have room to layer up for cold weather. I actually use the bibs for warmth during the winter b/c they block the wind.

Didn't want anything insulated because of the hot summers...

I agree I do not want anything insulated, and I also want to breathe after having the frogg toggs NO MORE PVC rain suits for me. I like the looks of that suit Thanks Sam

Academy sells a great raisuit by Stearns. It is a breathable fabric, uninsulated, mesh lined, and works great for me. It does cost a little more than the frog toggs - but it's a lot more durable. When I've been caught in the rain - I've never noticed a leak - even when running the boat. BTW - if you also have a save phace - it's the ultimate rainy weather combination. No more stinging rain at high speeds. But I guess this is only a problem if you're not running a Ranger boat.....

    Here's the jacket & pants:

I have the ranger overalls by Helly Hansen...they are not insulated but they are very hot...

And for the jacket i use the FLW one from walmart never had any problems staying dry or warm...

Frogg toggs are very good too...

My brother in law has a Sterns rainsuit and he is always wet when it rains....I wouldn't buy anything that isn't Gortex...

He should exchange it at Academy. Mine works great.
