    carpet

Replacing my red carpet in my 06 20xrd. Any comments on what ounce carpet to use. Tom at Bullet said that they use 18oz (i think) at the factory. They don't have the grey color I want so I'am buying elsewhere and wanting to go with a nicer carpet. Maybe 20oz. Comments????

    Re: carpet (crank68)

my neighbor just went through this..........he ordered the carpet from Bullet and wasn't happy at all with the quality.......it is actually more like a 14oz. when you get it.........you can bend the fibers over and actually see the base ........he decided on BassCat carpet........it is 22oz. I think and looks AWESOME in his Bullet........just make sure to have your installer have teh front deck and center lid parts edge stitched for the factory look and to prevent unraveling they will ship it to you in what quantity you need

    Re: carpet (crank68)

I hear what you are saying about the quality, but I am going to do the job myself, and am unsure about the stitching around the deck and steps. I spoke with Bullet, and they said that the front deck carpet, and steps are all precut, and stitched. They are all set to put right down, and then they provide more carpet in a roll for doing all the lids. If the deck and steps are all taken care of, that is a huge load off for me. I am going to put padding under the front deck anyway, so I am not too concerned about how it is underfoot. Has anyone used this kit and liked it? I would love some more feedback. Thanks.

Call Bullet - they can provide you the name of the place in Knoxville that surges their carpet for them. You can send your carpet straight to them and have it done or Bullet might even offer to do it for you.

    Re: carpet (jclark408)

I know that you were referring to the kit, I was just wondering if anyone had ordered it an liked it. Bullet said that the charcoal grey was their best carpet, and I got the feeling that it might be a little different than some of their other colors. I was just looking for more than one guys opinion, that is all. And yes, the boat is for sale, but if it does not sell, I would like the carpet to be done, so I always have a backup plan. If I can't sell the boat and buy a new one, I will make this one feel like new.

Paul Nichols did have some new kits on FB for sale. I'm not sure if he still does but you can call and find out. Pretty good price from what I remember.

Bass Cat will sell me 26 feet for $225. That sounds pretty good. I read on a post that their carpet was good stuff.

    Re: (crank68)

I have heard that as well, and from several different people. It is very thick and plush, and will probably require some trimming to make your lids work easily. I think I am going to give the Bullet carpet kit a try. It has the front deck and step pieces pre cut, and stitched around the edges, and includes another 25' to do the lids and the rest of the boat with for 400.00. It is the same stuff they use on the new boats. How bad can it be.... right
