Locate the Vapor Separator Tank on the PORT or Left Side of the engine.
Remove the Water Separating Filter element (it has a star-shaped red cap on top of the VST.... you can use a screwdriver through the tangs to turn it counter-clockwise).
There is a u-shaped hose UNDER the VST that hooks from the front to the back. This hose is in place for your use to drain the VST of water or fuel. Simply hook it to only the front chamber, and loosen the drain screw at the bottom of that chamber. Drain contents into a glass jar for inspection (water will separate off to the bottom of the jar).
If water is noted.... repeat the same proceedure for the REAR chamber (drain it).
If will be necessary to pump the primer bulb firm BEFORE attempting to start the engine again (once everything has been reassembled).
As for draining your fuel tank... keep in mind that the ONLY appropriate way to do so is to remove the fuel sending unit, and, using a hose or a tube, siphon EVERY SINGLE DROP of liquid from the deepest, darkest and lowest corner of the tank. The fuel feed line for the engine is NOT a suitable draining tube/method.![]()
