    20xd 225x prop help

I have a 2000 20xd with a 2004 225x. 3/4 inch below pad 26 worked and non worked trophy. 6100 rpm is all I can get at 79.8 with two people half tank of fuel. Do I need to run a 25 on this motor or What? By the way torque master with 1:87

    Thanks
    Dennis

Re: 20xd 225x prop help (stickem baits)

No expert on props by no mean, but I got a 225efi that has 1.75 gears in the lower unit on a 21XD full of fuel tournament fishing load and two people and I turn a stock 27 trophy plus to 5800rpm and a 26 TXP 3 blade 5900. My boat chine walks real bad on slick water so the day i ran my boat with the gps I could only hod my boat turning 5500 rpm with the TXP prop and ran 75mph solo with full tank of gas and tournamet fishing load. So I wouldn't think your prop pitch is the problem. Somebody that knows more than me will be on here shortly and hopefully help out.

    Re: 20xd 225x prop help (Sandman38)

These Bullet's all run different,, for instance I have an 03 21XD with an 04 225 EFI and with two people and fishing load half tank of gas I run 82 (GPS) with a 28pitch Turbo TXP-OT-4 and solo 85.4 (GPS) with a Turbo TXP-3 30pitch so they all run different and my motor is stock...Mike Lohn says my boat is a "freak"

I run the same boat / engine combo you do but I run a sporty. If I were you I'd have your lower coned or sell and buy a sporty. When I ran trophys I could spin a 26 to the limiter with 2 guys loaded 83/84. After slinging blades on a few I tried a bunch of different wheels and the best so far for me is a 28 BC performer. A 26 TXP OT4 is also a really good runner but I like the spool up hole shot of over the hub props better.

I'm hoping once I get where I can drive mine it will run 80 with a fishing load and 2 people, and yes your motor is a freak thats fast for a stock motor.

Boat will run 80 with a very heavy load, it will run 85 with a lighter T load and 88-90 with no load and a 28 to 30 pitched prop. But you NEED a Sportmaster lower, I have run with 14" set back and 1.75 above for speed, 1 1/4 above for fishing.

Like stated a 26 TXP, a 26 razor, 26 performer, Bravo for fishing 28 to 30 performer for speed.

If you run a tighter t load then the 28 will work for that as well.

I am running the same setup pretty much. The only difference is my lower is coned running 1 1/4 above the pad with a 27 trophy plus. And it will run 85-87 all day long. Either get your lower coned or buy a sporty!!
