    Another question

From the same guy that posted the tourney load speed question.

If there was anything in a Bullet that you didn't like or that another boat has better, what would it be?

I know these may be difficult questions to answer if you truly love your boat and the only way to know is for me to drive one but in all my life, I've only seen 2 Bullets and the last one was 8 years ago. So, please, as honest and constructive as you can, help me out.

I love my 21XD my grandpa had a tr20 triton an I like my bullet 10 times better. The only thing I'd change on my boat is to put a 300 on it cause I'd like to go faster. If I bought another name brand boat and had the cash I would look at a Gambler their look like a Cadillac for the water.

There is only a few things I've disliked about any of my bullets one is the livewell doesn't drain all the way. You have to vacuum out the rest if to want them dry. It's not much but enough to aggravate me. The other is to change any pumps you have to pull the tank. Other than that I love them and have no complaints

Eliminate the livewell lip coming over the rear deck. The 21SS does not have this. My livewell lid comes open all the dayum time...ripping out the rivets...EVERY TIME!!!

Lets see.. Make the rear dry storage and livewell lids so they can be opened without raising the seat.. This is a pain, especially for a passenger who has his rods beside the seat and needs to get to dry storage.. Make the rear battery compartment lid a 2 or 3 piece, or open differently. Battery changes on the water are pretty sketchy, esp if the water is rough. Make a better trolling motor mounting location. There is no good way to mount a trolling motor on a Bullet besides across the nose, and I dont like the looks of that. I had to make a bracket for mine to mount it TN style and still be sturdy. Outside of those little things, I love my Bullet! Overall, I think they have a great design, just a few little things could be changed. Oh, for what its worth, the 21ss already has all the changes I mentioned..

    Re: (Rocko71)

I love my 21 XDC and have made a few mods that I like.. Under the seats there is a small tackle tray that sometimes got wedged in the opening. I made a gasket of that 1/2 inch foam flooring stuff from Walmart and cut it to fit under the tray. Now water is sealed out better and the trays dont fall in. I glued another piece under my seat and it lifts the seat clear of the rear hatch so they can be opened without tilting them forward. There is no glovebox on my passenger console so I installed a cargo mesh from between the seats of a 2000 Dodge Caravan and it works great.. I installed a recessed trolling motor tray.. I found some bone white mactac that adhered to the bottom of the livewells and works perfect allowing me to easier see and cull fish.. I repositioned the plastic rod tubes inside the center front hatch which makes rod access and storage easier and frees up both side lockers for tackle storage and raingear. The rear compartments accumulated water so I drilled a 1/4 inch hole in them that drains into the bilge. I removed the woodgrain dash console inserts completely and found the fiberglass under them to be perfect.I changed the black windshields out for smoke see thru ones that I can see through when I duck behind .. I made Lexan wedges to raise the back edge of my windshields 3 inches . I can now get out of the wind and see through them.. I installed a workout style rubber ball in my 14 inch rapidjack that gives me better floatation as well as preventing the water from being splashed back through the jackplate in rough water. The consoles both come to a sharp point at the back that my wife cut herself on so I cut a 1 inch wedge on a 45 degree angle that made the point much less pronounced and gives a surprising amount of ease of movement .. I will try to post some pics of all these mods as I find they are all beneficial and have made my boat better....

I had a ChampioN 2005 188 Elite now a 21RDC the only complaint I have is the front pedestal seat it is horrible ordered the same seat the ChamP had the Bullet IMO is the best bass boat hands down it does every thing 10 times better than any other bass boat I have been in. Top of the Line.

    Re: Another question (STEVE81)

the lids , the seals , and LATCHES ESPECIALLY suck !!!!!!!!!! if you bump a latch and dont realize it then you got another cracked lid from it gettn blown up. the raised lip the seal fits on should be higher. rainy days sometimes your things in your compartments get wet. i NEVER had that problem at all with my champion and my friend has a javelin and everything is always dry as well. the other thing is you have to watch when loading the boat on the trailer. the pointed nose does not allow you to just drive it rite up on the trailer at every boat ramp. if you back in too far the nose can go under the roller and cause damage to the boat. now the good. its light, handles really well, and takes rough water a lot better than i thought a bullet would before i got one, and of course they are fast. they are also an eye catcher. i get a lot of people checkn mine out at the lakes here in N.C. also because there are not that many bullets at all here in N.C. its also the easiest boat ive ever had to run wires thru from back to front. now the PERFECT BOAT to me that i would not change a thing on and love it inside and out is the new 21ss bullet. AWSOME ! if i could afford a new boat rite now thats what i would have.
