Re: help me with my setup (MarcDingee)

I suggest taking off the 27M pro series and trying a 27T1 or 27 txp as that motor likes the bigger diameter props to carry the 22 ft boat. Then you will probably want to jack up the motor some more. What speed/rpms are you seeing?

Never chop the throttle at speeds.... Trim down and or slowly cut back on the gas to let the hull settle in.

I tested a 27M pro series on my boat and it was terrible... Just sayin.

Re: help me with my setup (hyperflow)

I ran a 20XDC/ 300HPDI today with a 27M and it did exactly what you said. At 80mph, it fell off of the pad and felt like it was about to spin around. Tomorrow I will run my 28 and 30 Bravos on it and see what it does. Should have an update tomorrow night.

Are you running 1.62 gears? You should be running no less then a 30 pitch on that setup if your running the hpdi case. I'm running a 31 hydro OB for my tournament loads with a 250 hpdi on a 20xd. With a 29p I'm all over the limiter unless I got a super heavy load

If you want help on what props to not try and what to try pm me. I tryed almost every prop possible on the hpdi/20xd

Re: help me with my setup (hyperflow)

I have the correct set-up on my 21/300, but this 20 fter is for a friend of mine. He's not that concerned with speed, but wants better handling and I told him anything will be better than an M-series Yamaha prop. Today I'll bring my 28, 30 Bravo....29T1...and a 30 TXP o/t 4. Hopefully we'll find something he's happy with. We both have stock 1.75 hpdi lower units.

Marc, sounds like you may be triming too high, then letting off the trottle to fast.

I know on my 20xdc/300PM.When running high speeds i had to trim down first then let off the gas.If not the boat would be all over the place.I think it cause of the weight of the 3.0L. vs. 2.5L
