Just wondering the same thing. What would be the advantage/disadvantage on. 20 XRD with a 250 ?
The more the blade area, the more lift, But more blade area means more drag and less speed if the blade area is not needed. The cuts reduce the blade area that is not needed and reduces drag. The bigger/heavier boats need more blade area than the smaller/lighter boats.

What Mike said is pretty much spot on. With props...it is most always a trade-off...you give up holeshot for top end...you have top end with a light load but the top end prop won't carry a load...etc. With a "Bullet Cut" prop...it can in a lot of cases be a VERY GOOD compromise for all situations...good hole shot, carries a load well and top ends well too. It must be surfaced though...it needs to be run above the pad.
Makes sense....Thanks for the explanation guys.![]()
