    Bullet Livewells...

    Gotta give props to the livewell in this rig. Caught 2 fish Sunday morning about 9:00 and put in the livewell (fishing a big bass tournament). One was about 2.00lbs and the other about 2.25lbs. I never weighed them as they wouldn't have done me any good and was just gonna stop on the way home and drop them off in the river. Well, I forgot and was so tired when I got home that I forgot about them till the next morning when I went outside I heard the aerator kick on. The water was probably about 5 inches deep b/c I didn't noticed till I pulled up to the weighin (a 30 min drive on the trailer) that the pump out valve was open a little and some water was being pumped out when the recirc would kick on. Regardless, them dudes were still kicking like a chicken! Took em to a pond by my brothers house at 6:00 yesterday evening and they were still feisty when I let em go! 34 hours seemed like a long time for a fish to stay alive in a livewell to me.

    Yeah, it has always made me wonder why people modify the live well system in a Bullet. They work really well the way they come from the factory. To me the only reason to modify it would be to make it better because fish were dying. I just have never had that problem.

    Only thing I did to mine was added a 2nd fill pump. I even upgraded pump from factory.. Still took too long to fill for me. Not no more!

    Re: Bullet Livewells... (timmaahh12)

    I would say I usually weigh in the healthest fish on average. The bad part is fishing them out of the bottom of the livewell. I fished a two day tourney last weekend. We made a 30 minute run one way in rough water and they were healthly. Some of them were in the box since 7am.

    I kind of wondered the same thing. Guys in our club that weigh the fish started making comments about Bullet owners fish when they would come to the scales.

    I have never had issue with my system, its all factory and works great yet simple. 2 pumps
    1- fill and 1-recirc. I think that the recirc is the issue, on my boat the main valve (simple enough) is open or closed. The spray bar is where I think some have problem. Looking at well from console the right (little valve) should be inline with hose ( i had to take the little screw / handle and alin it. also the left handle as well. but to recirc right hanle inline and left handle (closed) up and down. To use pumpout turn left handle inline and switch to manual (instead of auto) and it sprays and pumps out of boat. very simple system and easy

    Never really paid much attention to this, but after reading this last week.. I noticed at last nights tournament that my fish and the other Bullet owners fish are a lot more lively!

    Re: (Hydrilla Gear)

    cool, your ideas on the livewell will be great as always.

    ~~~Side hijack...sorry~~~
    By the way I put on your hydrilla PP bullet plate on and it fit like a glove. I love how it is tucked in tight to the hull. The way it looks I am thinking about adding a second PP, but I would want it to run on one pump...have you done it??
    Re: Bullet Livewells... (Hydrilla Gear)
    Going to pick up my " new to me" Bullet tomorrow. One thing I was thinking about adding was a system that adds O2 to the water. Have you had any experience with these? I fish a lot of tourneys and the water gets mighty hot in Ga. and Alabama this time of year. Also, what kinda of upgrade did you go to with your fill pump?
    Most people (myself included) only modify the pumpout system...which actually SUCKS in a Bullet. They are now offering a better pumpout as an option.
    Not sure why they even use the original style pump out. It only costs $16 extra to put the good one in.
