    Gap between motor and spacer?

Just intalled 2" spacers between Jack plate and motor. After all bolts tightened, I took a flash light and ran up and down the spacer. On the motor side I can see a gap between from the top to the upper bolt on both spacers. there is also a small gap above the the lower bolt. Already tried serveral times to adjust the tightening of the bolts, but nothing changes. Is this normal or do I need to shime?

It sound as if the spacers are not true, if they are new I would make them give me a new set of spacers. if they are not new maybe you can find a machinest that can true them up.

Put bolts in it that have threads all the way to the head of the bolt.
