    Thinking of buying a Bullet.

Hey guys, I've been a lurker for a long time here but never posted. I think I wanna buy a Bullet but have a couple of questions.

What is the deal with the 'Gorilla Hull'? Does it add weight? What do you think the top end difference would be between a 20XD/225X w/ a Gorilla hull vs. the same set up without a Gorilla hull?

A Gorilla Hull is something that is done after the boat is built by another company. Bullet does offer a XT lay up which basically adds another layer of glass on the interior of the hull. A Gorrilla Hull is an extra layer of glass on the exterior of the hull. I dont like the Gorilla Hulls on a Bullet, just because it messes up the contour of the running surface. If it were me adn I was going to order a new boat, I would get Bullet to build the boat with the XT (or Great Lakes) lay up. It adds around 50 pounds or so of weight to the hull, and I am going to guess 1-2 mph.

Mike Lohn has the XT lay up on his boat and he has his running pretty good with minor mods.

I do have the XT layup, But I do feel the weight difference between my 21er and tmbullet's boat... I wonder what kind of speed I have missed. My best speed this year was 84.1... Last year was 85.4.. I might be gaining weight over the years or my motor is getting tired as it has 175 hrs on it.

    Thanks for the info guys!

What do ya'll think is possible to get out of a 20XRD w/ a 225X Promax with a Torquemaster lower (I know it needs a Sporty, but that's what's on it now) w/ a Gorilla hull? I think I remember seeing some get low 90s on 20'er/225 promax with a sportmaster lower. Just wonder what the difference would be with the Gorilla hull and the TM LU.

Were as all boats and motors have minor differences, I think Mike is right on, ya may or may not get a little more with the sporty due to the extra weight of the XT layup..

Had the Gorrilla Hull put on my 95 model because of some bottom damage, they said it added 40 to 50 lbs of weight but I found it performed just as well, and it's one tough sob

My 2004 250xs had 635 hours on it when i sold it in November.....it'd still run circles around that 175 hour hammer
