What makes a Bullet that much better & faster...? Hull tech and such...?

Havent really looked an many other boats but what is it about a Bullet that makes it that much faster and smoother riding than any other boat...? Not interested in hearing from any Allison doods either as the weight of a Bullet puts it into a different class plus the room and its true bass boat (no offense to the Allison gang)...

BTW love my 20XDC but would really love a 21XDC...

Got a project boat in the works...

Well i will take a stab at this...

I would say that pad design is the key to how the Bullet runs. Also keel depth/length, chine, and strake location all play rolls in how a boat drives/handles. I could be off and have my terms wrong but i am just throwing it out there.

Craftsmenship is going to play a facter as well. Reletivaly crisp lines balance etc...

I will also go on record to say the Allison BassSport is one hell of a fishing machine and a true fishin hull.

Thats 3 minutes of my life I will never get back...

21' Bullet 1275 pounds. 21' Allison BasSPort Pro 1280 pounds. The thing I like most about the BasSPort Pro is the fact that very few have ever seen one...which of course leads to comments such as the one above.

As far as technology...thanks for the You might want to study the history of high performance hulls, you will quickly realize which brand has been the most copied and as a result, the most protected by patents.

Hydrilla... Thanks thats what I was kinda wanting to know...

I knew the other comments would a good poke and fun deal...

No doubt the BassSport is a bad to bone fishing rig but as with most Allison`s they are priced a little beyond reach to alot of us or what we would like to spend... Would even consider a Stroker but again price and to far and few between around here, but again just not my style... Plus I just prefer the style of a Bullet (to each his own...) RobShaw1 its like Ford Vs Chevy or big store bought boobies Vs real ones (which cost alot less)

Ok now another question on this subject why and how do Bullets (and other high performance brands... ) take rough water so much better...? I`ve rode in sereral 19-20' boats and gotta say my 20XDC is smoother and leaves basicly little or no wake too... Heck the wife loves the ride and will go most any time now...

Stroker, Allison, and Bullet are at the top of the performance bass boat food chain. Ride and fish in them all, and make the best choice for your application.

The length of the keel makes for a better rough water ride...but it also means that these boats require more driver input.

Re: What makes a Bullet that much better & faster...? Hu ... (RobShaw1)

Ok that makes sense somewhat...? But when you get the full lift feeling which mine comes in around 60-65mph and just starts to fly, then isnt most or basicly all of the keel no longer in the water...?

Here recently I was running on the river and the wind was blowing pretty stiff from the south and I was heading south so of course the chop was pretty rough... Had another boat running out in front of me which turned out to be a Skeeter (did not notice the model) but had a 225 Yami on it and caught him and was running around 50ish or so and you could tell he was taking a beating... I put the hammer down and it got smoother than running that speed for sure, was running about 76-78 not flat out but about all that was safe... Got back to the dock and the other guy came up and asked just how fast I was running and I told him but I dont think he really believed me...? Then he told me he tried to run faster but trim up or trim down it beat the crap out of him... I offered him a ride to show him how smooth a Bullet is but his wife was PO`d at him about something so they loaded and left... Wasnt really sure how to explain why either...

Dunno about the more driver input part. My bullet was very easy to drive. The cookie cutter boats i've driven, i had to stay on top of them to keep it smooth.

I'd say keel length, and hull design make for the smooth ride. In water you'd get sprayed in in a cookie, the performance hulls eat it up and its a much much drier ride.

Any of the big 3 performance hulls will ride and be a dryer flight than a cookie.

Even for the non performance boater, i feel that a 21ft Bullet, Allison (XB21), or Stroker will make the ultimate fishing rig even with small power (200's) will still keep up with or outrun most any other boat with bigger power.

My XB2002 isn't a true fishing boat, but it rides VERY well for its weight and length.

I have never understood this statement. I can fish just fine out of my XB02. It has enough deck, storage and livewells for me to fish just fine. In fact it has as much if not more than what a lot of the BASS pros used to fish from. They were fishing from Rangers so should there be a caveat saying they won these T's in the 80's out of boats that werent "true" fishing boats? Do you say to a guy that pulls up in his early 80's basser and think "that aint a TRUE fishing boat"? Granted, the XB2002 isn't a behemoth basser but to say its not a TRUE fishing boat doesn't seem to make much sense.

    Ramble Over....sorry fellows

I fish every tourney from my 2002. I don't think it fishes 2 people nearly as good as a 20ft Bullet.

Don't hate.....i own and fish out of one too and love the boat for what it is.

now that is a totally different statement there! And by just looking at a 20ft B-boat I would prolly agree (never have actually fished from one)

    no hate here
